The College Reunion

I’m dusting off this old blog to write a post targeted at a very specific group of people: Stuart, Jason, Levi, Jim Bob, Jeannie, Jen, Krambeck, Ed, and I’m sure I’m missing a few other names as I type this out. If you don’t care about how this came about and would rather just get the ask, please feel free to scroll down to the last paragraph, for everyone else read on!

I ended up in Denton earlier this week because my oldest is doing college visits and one of the schools he wanted to see was the University of North Texas. Admittedly, I asked him to put it on his list, not because I thought he would be interested in it, but because I wanted to show him where I went to school. We came up late on Monday and toured around the town and saw the handful of places that I lived when I was up there (The Dominion!). The next day we toured the campus and saw all of the changes that had happened and when we wrapped up that day something really hit me. Some strange sort of nostalgia where I found myself wanting to re-connect with my closest friends from college. Some of you may have already gotten a call or a text recently from me, this is the beginning result of that.

The more I thought about it the more I started to wonder why there weren’t college reunions. I honestly would rather meet and hang out with the core group of friends that I had in college over the vast majority of people that show up at my high school reunions. So I’m changing that. It’s been 20 years since I graduated and while I know that our graduation dates are staggered, I want to plan a 20-ish year college reunion.

That’s why I’ve written this. I would like to invite all of you to the 20-ish year reunion of the University of North Texas Dominion crew. I have probably reached you via text or some other means. If you’re interested in attending, please respond to that message and let me know. I’m not sure when this will happen, but I’m hoping that by summer we can do something. I’ll meet you back at the apartment!
